Frequently asked questions
Can I leave Kyrgyzstan if my visa has expired?+
No. Border officers will not stamp you out of Kyrgyzstan with an expired visa or expired registration. You must first obtain an exit visa (Leave-L category) issued by the State Migration Service. The calculator above gives you the total cost of doing this, including the overstay protocol fine.
Does the exit visa rate depend on my nationality?+
No. The government exit visa fee (Leave-L category, ordinary passport) is the same for citizens of Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, the Philippines and most other countries without a special bilateral agreement with Kyrgyzstan. The rate depends on overstay length and processing speed, not nationality.
What is the protocol fine?+
A separate administrative penalty for overstaying — issued by the migration officer and paid before the exit visa is granted. The exact amount depends on overstay days, so the calculator shows a range. The fine grows with overstay length.
Standard vs. Express — which should I pick?+
Standard takes 10 working days at the base rate. Express takes 2 working days but the government fee is 3× higher (this is a published surcharge, not our markup). Pick express only if your flight is within ~10 days; otherwise standard saves significant money.
What does the Traveliscope service fee include?+
Document review, application drafting, queue management at the State Migration Service, follow-up with the case officer, and delivery of the stamped passport. The fee scales with overstay length: USD 100 for stays under 3 months, USD 150 for 3–12 months, USD 200 for 1–2 years, USD 300 for 2–3 years, USD 350 for 3–4 years. It does not cover translation/notarisation if needed, or transport to the airport.
My worker overstayed more than a year — what happens?+
Cases above 12 months are reviewed individually before we quote. Outcomes vary: court hearing, enhanced protocol payment, or deportation proceedings. The calculator switches to «Consultation required» in that range — send us the passport scan and we’ll assess the same day.
Will I be banned from re-entering Kyrgyzstan?+
An exit visa issued after paying the protocol generally does not trigger a re-entry ban for short overstays. Long overstays (typically over 6 months) can be flagged in the migration database, meaning future visa applications may be reviewed more carefully or refused. We’ll tell you upfront if your case falls in that bracket.
Can I do this myself without an agency?+
Yes — the State Migration Service accepts applications directly. We exist for cases where a language barrier, tight flight schedule, or unfamiliar case (long overstay, lost passport, employer dispute) makes DIY risky. Simple cases + Russian/Kyrgyz fluency = you can save the $150 fee.
