The four steps of a Kyrgyzstan work visa
Your first work visa is built in four government steps. Together they cover about 14 months. Every fee below is paid to the Kyrgyz authorities — not to us.
2-month work visa submission
The employment (W-category) visa and work-permit application, submitted through the e-government portal. This gets the worker legally into Kyrgyzstan for the first two months and is the largest part of the cost. Paid to the State Migration Service and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Medical examination
A mandatory health check at an approved clinic in Kyrgyzstan, required before the visa is extended. A small, fixed government-set cost.
Police registration
Registration of the worker’s stay with the authorities after arrival in Bishkek. A small mandatory fee that keeps the worker’s presence legal.
1-year extension
The 2-month entry visa is then extended for a full year, so the first visa covers roughly 14 months in total. When this period ends, renewal repeats the same steps at the same cost.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a Kyrgyzstan work visa cost for 1 year?+
A first work visa is issued in four government steps — the 2-month entry visa, a medical examination, police registration and a 1-year extension — which together cover about 14 months. The calculator above shows the approximate government total. These fees are set by the Kyrgyz authorities and confirmed for your exact case after we review your job offer and category.
How long is the work visa valid, and what does renewal cost?+
The first visa covers about 14 months (a 2-month entry plus a 1-year extension). To keep working after that, the visa is renewed — renewal repeats the same full process (a fresh 2-month visa, medical, police registration and extension) at the same total cost. There is no cheaper extension-only path.
Do I have to leave Kyrgyzstan to renew or change jobs?+
Renewing your visa with the same employer does not require leaving the country — it is handled from inside Kyrgyzstan. However, if you want to change employer, you must exit Kyrgyzstan and re-enter on a new work visa tied to the new company. Plan a job change around this so you don’t overstay.
Is the work visa price different for Pakistani workers?+
The core government fees are broadly the same for citizens of Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and most other countries without a special bilateral agreement with Kyrgyzstan. The cost is driven by the visa steps themselves, not by nationality. If any nationality-specific visa surcharge applies to your case, we confirm it before you pay anything.
Who pays for the work visa — the worker or the employer?+
It depends on your contract. In many placements the employer covers the work permit and quota (ИРС) costs as part of the hiring package, while the worker covers personal documents (passport, medical, police clearance). A legitimate agency will always put who-pays-what in writing before you travel. If anyone asks you for large «processing fees» in cash with no receipt, treat it as a red flag.
Does this include Traveliscope’s fee?+
No — the calculator shows government costs only. What we charge to handle the whole process for you depends on your case and volume. Send us a message and we’ll give you a clear, all-in quote with no hidden extras.
How long does the work visa process take?+
Once the employer has secured the quota and job offer, the 2-month work visa is issued first, then extended for a full year. Total time from a signed offer to arrival depends on your document readiness and the season — message us with your situation and we’ll give you a realistic date.
